I haven’t put up any scans for a while, so here are some more from Ribon #4, 2007. These two are the color pages for Mayonaka-ni Kiss, a series by Mochida Aki which started up in this issue.
Nono, a highschooler whose family barely makes ends meet, tries to be nice to everyone. Her father died a year ago, and she hasn’t cried yet — instead, she’s thrown her energy into being constantly helpful, to her friends and her family; when she was little, her father used to tell her that if she was kind and worked hard, some day she could be a princess like Cinderella, and she’s clinging to that dream and his memory. One day, on the way home from school, she’s hustled off to the mansion of the immensely-wealthy Ichijou family — turns out, her mother’s just married again, and her new husband is the head of the Ichijou company. Suddenly, Nono’s thrown into high-society and, goaded by her stepfather’s son, Kazuomi, she decides to abandon her self-effacing ways and try to become the “queen” of this new world.
